We are all liars – Sarah Palin says so
According to a well commented CNN blog, Palin is a bit miffed about the “bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie”.
I agree that there are a large number of blogs that are used to comment on political, social and economic issues around the world. I also agree that there are plenty that use their anonymity to make comments and accusations that would otherwise be open to serious repercussions
(See a post about this issue here)
However, this anonymity is what powers the blogoshere. People are far less likely to write something, if being known as the author causes issues.
I do that here for just this purpose, so I have freedom to express myself without worrying about consequences.
Sex Bloggers in particular would be far thinner on the ground if they had to expose their real lives.
So the question is : do the benefits out weigh the problems, I think they do.
Blogs bring so much to the internet with the ability to be lightning fast in writing and welcoming discussion on a topic. With many blogs being written by non writers, it also brings a different tone to the discussion.
Do you have your real life on display in your blog? Or do you hide away like me, enjoying the freeodm it gives you?
